Central Bank Governor of the Year 2014: Raghuram Rajan

In India, growth has reached a two-year high. Since Raghuram Rajan took reign as the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India in September, 2013, the rupee gained about 10% against the US dollar and inflation has fallen by over two per cent. Recently awarded the Euromoney’s Central Bank Governor of the year, Rajan, alongside the new reformist Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is expected to take India to a road of higher levels of growth and development while creating an atmosphere of trust in the country’s monetary policies.
